Achieved political nirvana post expulsion: Amar Singh

One of Delhi’s most prominent and controversial politician, Amar Singh, finds himself at the crossroads of his political career. Amar Singh resigned as general secretary and from other posts in the Samajwadi Party citing “health reasons” amid speculation over deepening differences with party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
So where does he go from here?
CNBC-TV8’s Anuradha Sengupta caught up with Amar Singh on the very day that he had been expelled by the Samajwadi Party, his party of 14 years and spoke to him about his game plan going forward.
Q: February 2, 2010 the day that will mark a turning point in your political life?
A: Not in my political life but in my personal life I am feeling great amount of ecstasy, pleasure and I am very euphoric because I feel absolutely liberated as if I have attained political nirvana because I was in a party whatever was done was not actually subscribed by me and my ethos.
